Janna Magette is in her third season as a member of the 49ers coaching staff. She joined the coaching staff after spending two seasons as a member of the Francis Marion University coaching staff. "Janna is a hard working coach who is extremely personable and very knowledgable about the game of basketball," Charlotte head coach Amanda Butler said. "Those are tremendous traits for a coach to have. She is very enthusiastic and loyal to the Charlotte 49ers women's basketball program. She is a tremendous asset to me as a head coach." Magette's primary responsibilities include developing the guards, recruiting, team community relations, camps and life skills. She spent two seasons as a member of the coaching staff at Francis Marion. Her primary responsibilities were recruiting, on-floor coaching, individual player workouts, out-of-season workouts and academics. Magette earned a bachelor's degree in religion from Davidson College, where she was a four-year standout on the court for the Wildcats. She finished her career as the school's number two all-time leading scorer with 1,392 points. She saved her best season for last, leading the team in scoring, steals, three-point field goals made and free-throw percentage en route to earning first-team All-Southern Conference honors. She also finished her career ranked among the school's all-time leaders in assists and steals. She holds the Southern Conference record for three-pointers made in a career with 213. She was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll twice. She has worked basketball camps at Charlotte, Francis Marion, Middle Tennessee, Davidson, UNC Asheville and LSU. "Charlotte is an exciting place to be right now," Magette said. "We are coming off an excellent season and have high expectations for this year. We are excited to add some new faces to the program and look forward to another challenging and successful run."
